XL Precision Engineering has invested in its future by installing a biomass heating system, which will allow the company to benefit from renewable energy and participate in the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme.
The £85k investment in the biomass boiler will see the company receive payments of up to £15000 per year under the government scheme over the course of 20 years meaning the initial investment could be recouped in as little as 6 years. It is expected that the company will see a 20% improvement in fuel efficiency combined with lower carbon emissions.
The new eco-friendly system is being installed by Ashwell Biomass, who have been involved with biomass for over 15 years and are one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of the systems.
Dave Liversidge, production director commented “We are delighted to be in a position to invest in our future, from a commercial and environmental point of view. As the company continues to progress we look forward to seeing the benefits the new boiler will bring.”
